Meet The Designer

Coming Soon! Rebecca Moy's Artwork To Grace Our New Designer Series Keepsake Boxes!

We are so pleased to announce that we are creating a Designer Series of keepsake boxes with the artwork of Rebecca Moy! All of our designer boxes will boast a unique piano finish, a personalized brass plate and Rebecca Moy’s artwork. If you are not familiar with Rebecca Moy, here is a brief bio on this impressive visual artist

If Rebecca Moy were a writer, she would not be a novelist, a dramatist or an essayist. Rather, she would be a poet. Just as the finest poets can carefully piece together simple and seemingly random words and phrases to express very complex personal feelings, so too Rebecca can take a simple brush stroke or a tiny swath of color and immediately transport us to places that we only thought existed in our minds. Or our dreams. As one of the rising stars of the Chicago art scene, Rebecca is a woman whose passion for self-expression is evident in every piece she produces.

Whether it is a larger-than-life symphony of color, form and texture or a small study in black and white, when Rebecca Moy is at work she is not so much painting as she is composing. A native of La Grange, Illinois, she holds a bachelor’s degree from the visual arts department of Chicago’s highly regarded Columbia College. In 2007, following a juried competition, she was one of a handful of artists to gain acceptance to the prestigious River East Art Center, where she was one of that gallery’s youngest artists in residence. Rebecca’s dreamscape work is on display at Ossia Fine Art in the Fine Arts Building 410 S. Michigan, Chicago through September; as well as a growing number of private collections and public locations throughout the country and throughout the world.

Hey Chicago Brides and Trade Show Managers, Meet Jenny Miller-Makeup Artist

Every once in a while I like to highlight new jewelry artists, wedding planners, bridal consultants, authors or anyone creative who I feel has taken their profession to the next level. Whether that person is using their creativity to write a new work of poetry, create new works of art, a wedding consultant lending an expert ear to help two people plan the most exciting day of their lives or a travel planner recommending a new resort for a bit of R & R. I enjoy letting our fans know about creative people and what they are doing to make life easier and more enjoyable for you!

Today I would like to highlight someone I have known personally for many years. Although we had lost touch for a few years, when we did reconnect via Facebook, I found out a few things had changed. She provides on-location bridal makeup for the Bride and her wedding party. Jenny provides this service in a professional yet warm and friendly way. Meet The Designer - Fran Pearlman

Meet Fran Pearlman. Fran has been designing, amongst her many other accomplishments, unique and very upscale Mazel Tov wedding keepsakes for over 20 years. “For years, a light bulb was put into a napkin for the groom to break, or a wine glass in a napkin, but I thought it needed something of substance, that could also be a keepsake” Fran explained.

Here at we are delighted to highlight The Mazel Tov Wedding Pillow keepsake which can also be used as a ring pillow. Available in a wide range of colors to suit your wedding color palette, Fran actually hand paints each keepsake! Each Mazel Tov keepsake is personalized with the names of the bride and groom, the wedding date, and includes a sealed wine glass to be broken by the groom at the conclusion of the wedding ceremony. Available in white or Ivory satin, this custom made pillow measures 7” x 10” (plus a 3” lace border which is optional). Decorative trims enhance the “Mazel Tov” pillow, and as mentioned earlier, colors can be ordered to match the wedding or can be made in the traditional silver, white and blue metallic jacquard binding. Perfect for an engagement or bridal shower gift! Allow up to 4 weeks for delivery.

Meet The Designer - New Category

We are proud to offer our new “Meet The Designer” articles here on the gift gab. There have been so many times I have been asked who created, designed, wrote or helped create a particular gift. We decided to highlight our designers here on the gift gab. We have just written about Jean Schnaak (see previous post) and will feature another designer in an upcoming post. Do you have someone you would like us to interview and feature here on the gift gab? Email us at [email protected] and let us know. We are interested in highlighting designers from other genre’s as well, not just companies and designers we carry on the web site. If we find it complimentary to our mission we would love to talk to others who design or help design new and innovative gifts for men and women in love.

The Loving Heart Collection-Meet Jean Schnaak

I think it was about 4 years ago now that a lovely woman from Connecticut phoned me to ask me my opinion on what was to become a mutual advertiser that she was considering doing business with. It was that phone call that turned into a beautiful friendship that has spanned these many years and the distance between us.

Her name is Jean Schnaak, and she is the designer of The Loving Heart Collection. Her jewelry is, simply stated, outstanding. If you are looking for the perfect jewelry gift for any sentimental occasion you simply must visit her site. (We do carry the Loving Heart Silver Necklace you click here to see it on the web site).

It is very evident that each piece she designs is very well crafted and made with the finest attention to detail. From the jewelry piece itself, to the gift box it arrives in, you will be overwhelmed and so will your gift recipient.

As we head into bridal season, do consider visiting Jean’s site. Her jewelry is exceptional and so is she.
