This Broadway premiere features direction by two-time Tony Award® winner Joe Mantello (Wicked), a book by Tony Award® winner John Logan (Red) and Pulitzer Prize winner Brian Yorkey (Next to Normal), and choreography by Olivier Award winner Steven Hoggett (Once).
THE LAST SHIP is set in the English seafaring town of Wallsend, a close-knit community where life has always revolved around the local shipyard and the hardworking men who construct magnificent vessels with tremendous pride. But Gideon Fletcher dreams of a different future. He sets out to travel the world, leaving his life and his love behind. When Gideon returns home 15 years later, he finds the shipyard's future in grave danger and his childhood sweetheart engaged to someone else. As the men of Wallsend take their future into their own hands and build a towering representation of the shared dream that defines their existence, Gideon realizes that he left behind more than he could have ever imagined.THE LAST SHIP is a portrait of a community so bound together by passion, faith and tradition, they'll stop at nothing to preserve the only life they've ever known.

Every once in a while I like to share personal stories, and this is one I just have to blog about because I know a lot of people who are now in their 40's 50's and 60's are gravitating towards the "look and feel" of what we all shared growing up in the 60's and 70's. I find myself listening to a lot of The WHO, Neil Young, Moody Blues, Led Zepplin and Crosby Stills and Nash to name a few. I also drove a Camero when I was in my 20's and before the Camero I had a Mustang. Loved both of those cars and always wanted another. Either or would be fine but my heart went to the Mustang. When I hit 50 a few years back, my husband bought me my dream car a 2011 Black Mustang with all the bells and whistles. After all our daughter was grown and I had made it 50 years..both are something to celebrate. THEN I heard Ford was doing a redesign of the Mustang for 2015 and of course I had to take a peek. Here is what I found from Ford and of course Saleen, Rousch and Hennessey.

Just a week after Saleen released information and images of its upcoming Mustang-based S302 mega pony car, Hennessey Performance has dropped into our laps renderings and information on its sinister HPE700 Mustang. (Coincidence? We think not.) And as usual with a Hennessey product, it is absolutely drunk on power. How much power? Thanks to a Roots supercharger—Hennessey’s anabolic steroid of choice—as well as upgrades to the throttle body, fuel injectors, fuel pump, and exhaust system, Hennessey claims to wring 717 horsepower at 6600 rpm and 632 lb-ft of torque at 4400 rpm from the 2015 Ford Mustang‘s Coyote V-8. This enables the car to hit 60 mph in 3.6 seconds and pass the quarter-mile mark in 11.2 seconds at 131 mph, by Hennessey’s measurements. Saleen’s S302, for what it’s worth, comes in with a maximum of 640 hp and 565 lb-ft of torque in supercharged form. Ah, let the new Mustang tuner wars begin! The HPE700’s exterior gets the requisite smattering of badges and can be upgraded with a full raft of carbon-fiber addenda, including a lip spoiler, side sills, and a traylike splitter that juts out several inches from the chin and probably makes even the gentlest driveway slope a tough negotiation. Hennessey also offers to stuff the wheel wells with Michelin Pilot Super Sport 2 rubber wrapped around 20-inch Hennessey H10 wheels, and a Brembo brake package is available. Suspension upgrades are under development and “may include a trip to the ’Ring at some point,” according to company founder and president John Hennessey.
